You end up in this annoying spot where you have to throttle your production speed just so the ink actually cures. That’s why we stopped selling “standard” parts. We don’t do off-the-shelf. Instead, we build UV modules specifically for your line speed. If your press moves fast, your light needs to hit harder. Simple as that. The heat problem Here’s the thing: when you cram a lot of power into a small space to get those fast cure times, things get hot. Fast. If your cooling isn’t spot on, the diodes overheat and your UV output just tanks. It’s a nightmare for 24/7 production. To stop that from happening, we use heavy-duty aluminum heat sinks and forced-air cooling. We balance the electrical load so you aren’t constantly worrying about a lamp burning out in the middle of a big run. No more wasted light Most lamps are pretty wasteful—they scatter light everywhere except where it actually needs to be. We fix that with custom reflectors and lenses. We focus the beam exactly where the ink hits the material. The result? You get a full cure without having to touch the conveyor speed dial. Plus, we make these modules easy to swap in. If you’re still running old mercury systems, you can just drop these in. They talk to your existing PLC using the protocols you already have, so you don’t have to rip out your entire control cabinet. The balancing act In the real world, curing thick ink on non-porous surfaces is a bit of a tightrope walk. We tune the wavelength to match the specific photoinitiators in your ink. But you have to be careful. Crank the intensity too high and you’ll speed up the line, but you might warp your material. It’s all about finding that sweet spot—enough power to make sure the ink doesn’t smudge, but not so much that you ruin the substrate. We help you dial that in.
